On Saturday, Feb. 16, please join me at the Disneyland Resort for the 4th annual Celebrate Gospel event in celebration of Black History Month. More than a dozen local gospel choirs will get you on your feet and clapping your hands inside Stage 17 at Disney California Adventure park, from 10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. This is the second year that I will participate with my choir, Inspirational Voices from Friendship Baptist Church, in Yorba Linda. It is an opportunity for me to sing at the Disneyland Resort and share the richness of Gospel music.
I also support the event as a member of People United to Lead, Serve and Excel (PULSE), a Disneyland Resort Diversity Resource Group dedicated to African American cultural development. As part of PULSE, I helped promote Celebrate Gospel at the Orange County Black History Parade and Cultural Fair in Anaheim, which the Disneyland Resort supported as a sponsor.
Bringing together gospel choirs from across Southern California is a wonderful opportunity, and I’m certain that when these groups lift their voices, it also will lift your spirit! Gospel music has such a rich heritage, and I’m proud that the Disneyland Resort is becoming part of it.
