As president of the Disney VoluntEARS Leadership Council (DVLC), I lead 48 cast members from various lines of business at the Disneyland Resort, who meet monthly to review, coordinate, and lead more than 250 Disney VoluntEARS projects annually in our local community.
There is no greater reward than making a difference in the lives of others and our community, and I know volunteering can make a difference. Helping those in need with even the smallest gesture lets them know they are not alone and gives them hope.
I joined the group 12 years ago because I wanted to make a difference in the community I work and live in. Along with bringing volunteer opportunities to our cast members, I have really enjoyed volunteering alongside them at events such as Operation Interdependence, National Family Volunteer Day and CHOC Walk in the park presented by the Disneyland Resort. The added benefit is the lifelong friendships I have developed through volunteering. We have become a DVLC family!
