Last month, students from four Orange County elementary schools performed parts of their Disney KIDS Musicals live at Segerstrom Center for the Arts as part of Disney Musicals in Schools Student Share Celebration. This year’s Disney Musicals in Schools program was made possible by a donation of $60,000 from the Disneyland Resort in an effort to promote music and arts education for local youth.
Additionally, Mickey Mouse celebrated with fifth-grade students at Stoddard Elementary School in Anaheim, the first school to receive funding from the Disneyland Resort for Anaheim Elementary School District’s Music Makers Exploratory Wheel Program. The yearlong program provides students at sponsored schools the opportunity to learn how to play each of five musical instruments, then choose which they want to play for years to come. The Disneyland Resort will support the program with nearly $400,000 over the next five years.
