Through Feb. 5, Disneyland Resort is ringing in Lunar New Year with an expanded celebration at Disney California Adventure park. Guests can enjoy themed food, colorful live performances, special Disney characters, traditional décor and more.
During menu development, Resort chefs collaborated with local community members and COMPASS — a cast member Diversity Resource Group that builds Asian and Pacific Islander cultural awareness — to ensure authenticity of the new Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese food offerings. The Resort also invited the Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance and Vietnamese American Chamber of Commerce to commemorate the “Year of the Rooster” at the celebration.
“I was amazed by the decor and the transformation to create an authentic experience for Lunar New Year. Eating the family-style fish and enjoying the desserts brought back some of my favorite childhood memories,” said Tam Nguyen, president of the Vietnamese American Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
