On Earth Day, the Disneyland Resort surprised the Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Beach, California with a $60,000 donation to support the rehabilitation of rescued sea lions. The center was expecting a potential donor for a tour when the Million Dollar Dazzle crew came in to make the surprise announcement. The gift represents the 11th gift in the program, which is surprising local nonprofits with $60,000 each month of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration, amounting to more than $1 million.
“This donation from the Disneyland Resort means we are going to be able to continue to bring in mammals that need rescuing,” said Keith Matassa, executive director of the Pacific Marine Mammal Center. “The money will go toward mammal care to ensure the mammals make it back to the wild where they belong.”
