Dear Friends and Community Partners, As you may have learned, I recently was named president of the Walt Disney World Resort, where I began my Disney career in 1971. To be named president 41 years later is a dream come true. While I am excited about my new role, it’s difficult to say goodbye to the many people I have had the pleasure of interacting with over the past three years. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for welcoming me to Anaheim and Orange County, and for making my time at the Disneyland Resort truly magical.
From the debut of World of Color, the restoration of the classic Disneyland Hotel, the refurbishment of the Matterhorn Bobsleds, and of course, the Grand Reopening of Disney California Adventure park, our guests have created countless life-long memories that they will treasure forever; just as I have. It is my sincere hope that you and your loved ones have been able to experience all that the newly expanded Disneyland Resort has to offer.
Also, please join me in extending a warm and heartfelt welcome to Michael Colglazier, the new president of the Disneyland Resort. He is a wonderful leader and friend, and I know that Michael will work hard to ensure the Happiest Place on Earth remains an active and engaged community partner.
Once again, thank you for your support during the past three years. I wish you all continued success and happiness!
George A. Kalogridis
