The Disneyland Resort invited children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim, Santa Ana, Tustin and Garden Grove to participate in the Downtown Disney Safe Day at Play events, where they had the opportunity to meet professional athletes and ice skate on the Secret of the Wings ice skating rink. As part of the event series, a number of professional athletes signed autographs for guests and talked about the importance of sports safety.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim enjoyed a meet and greet with ice skater Tippy Wu, and the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana, where Disneyland Resort sponsored a new KaBOOM! Playground last September, met rock climber Sierra Blair-Coyle. Hockey player Guy Herbert signed autographs for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tustin, and U.S.A. Volleyball players Clay Stanley and Ed Ratledge met with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove.
