Serving a similar role to Main St. U.S.A. in Disneyland park, Buena Vista Street now welcomes guests to Disney California Adventure park. The new entrance is reminiscent of the 1920s and ’30s Los Angeles that Walt Disney experienced when he first arrived in California as a young animator. A slightly smaller replica of Hollywood’s original Carthay Circle Threatre – where “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” premiered in 1937 – stands as the centerpiece, much like Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland park.
A re-creation of the Glendale-Hyperion Avenue Bridge in Los Angeles carries the Disneyland Monorail over Buena Vista Street, while the Red Car Trolleys inspired by the Pacific Electric Red Cars that were part of Southern California transportation from 1901 to 1961 pass underneath, carrying guests through Buena Vista Street and Hollywood Land.
